Welcome! My name is Dustin Federspiel – the owner of Viera Data Systems. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up near the town of Yakima in central Washington State. I attended college at the University of Washington and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. A few years later, I decided to continue my education and earned a Master’s degree in Information Management from Aspen University.
Computers have always interested me. I remember getting my first computer when I was only 14 years old (a Commodore VIC-20 unit). Soon, I was learning how to write computer programs using the ‘BASIC’ programming language. As my skills improved, I came up with a practical use for my new computer – solving my Algebra homework problems!!
After graduating from college, I found myself drawn to work with computers. I took on technical support positions with Value Added Resellers in Washington, Kansas, and New Mexico. Over time, I accumulated more than 20 years of experience supporting small businesses and individuals with their computer and technology needs. My experience includes a variety of small businesses ranging from hearing aid clinics, auto repair shops, veterinarians, and law offices, to hair salons and realtors.
In regards to family, I’ve been married for over 15 years and have one child. My wife also graduated from the University of Washington with an engineering degree and works in the defense industry. My son currently attends high school. He is a competitive figure skater and has trained for more than eight years.
